What is the age cut off?

Cut off age for individual entry is 18 years as at the 31 December 2009.
Cut off age for team entrants is 17 years as at the 31 December 2009.

What is the wetsuit policy?

Triathlon Australia ruling is for a swim distance of 2km wetsuits are not allowed for temperatures 23 degrees and over.

What is the average water temperature?

25 - 27 degrees

What is the average day temperature?

30 -35 degrees

Are there cut off times for each leg?

Yes, however we will allow you to finish the race without official times recorded if you are outside these times, as long as you are medically fit to continue. Cut off times are: swim - 1 hour, cycle 3.5 hours, run 2.5 hours.

Multiple Finishers

You must complete the race in consecutive years to be eligible for the 10, 15, 20 etc year awards. Entry fee is also free for those who have finished 10, 15, or 20 consecutive years.

If one member of our team has a Triathlon Australia licence do we get the discounted licenced price?

NO - all members must have a Triathlon Australia licence to enter as a licenced team.

How does the swim begin? Is it staggered?

It is a staggered start - first wave 5am is open males to 30-34 males, second wave at 5.05am is teams, third wave at 5.10am is females, and fourth wave at 5.15am is males 35-39 to 70+

Are we able to check our bikes in on Saturday?

No, there is no security on Saturday night. Bike compound opens at 3.30am on Sunday morning of the race.

What are at the aid stations and how far apart are they?

Run - there are 6 stations each 1km apart. Each have water, ice and coke.
Cycle - aid stations are 20km, 40km and 60km. There are bananas at 40km and 60km and bike biddons of water at 20km, 40km, and 60km.

Can we get refunds?

If you cannot find a replacement you must provide a doctors certificate and then you will be eligible to receive 50% of your entry fee back.

How do Clydesdales enter?

Clydesdales enter as their age group and then at registration we have a weigh in to see if they qualify for either of the following categories: +90kg or +100kg.

Is there a criteria for the Open category

No criteria for open category, it is up to the athlete if they wish to enter in this category. It is usually the pro or elite athletes. There is no monetary advantage.

Can partners come to the carbo dinner?

Yes

Does the carbo dinner cater for vegetarians and Gluten free?

Yes

Can a team have only 2 team members where one member will do 2 of the legs and the other only 1 leg?

Yes

Are we allowed to register and collect race kits on Sunday morning?

No, registration must be completed the day before. Registration commences at 3pm on the Saturday.

Are we allowed to use camelbacks?

Yes, a camelback may be used in place of one water bottle.

Can a speedsuit be worn?

Yes it can be worn over a trisuit but must not be thicker than 6mm together.

Can one person do one leg in one team and another leg in another team?

Yes
