Race Headquarters is located at the Goondiwindi Town Park at the western end of Marshall Street.

The 2km SWIM consists of 1km upstream then 1km downstream return in the MacIntyre River (freshwater!!) starting and finishing at the Town boat ramp. The river has minimal current and long sleeved wetsuits are not recommended.

The 80km CYCLE leg is "dead flat", 40 km west out the Barwon Highway towards St George and return. The road surface is reasonable with some short sections that require care and attention. This stretch of road is renowned for its cross winds and disks are not recommended.

The 20km RUN consists of three loops heading towards the western edge of town. Aid stations are placed every kilometre.

Registration

SATURDAY 30th January

3.00pm Race registration commences in the town park.
5.30pm Pre Race briefing including the first half of Random Draws & Clydesdale category "weigh ins" for categores +90kg & 100kg.
6.00pm "Carbo-loading' dinner in the park

Race Rules

All relevant Triathlon QLD rules apply.
- Progress cut off times of 1hr swim; 3.5hrs cycle; 2.5hrs run will apply & competitors; will only be allowed to continue if the relevant doctor believes he or she can do so without injury.
- Two water bottle biddons are mandatory on each bicycle (or an equivalent deemed suitable by the race director or TQ referee).
- The presentation will commence at approximately 12 noon.

Race Day

3.30am Bike compound opens for bike racking (All bikes must be racked on Sunday morning before the race. You will NOT be able to leave your bike in the park on Saturday night).
4.00am Numbering commences
4.30am Move to start at Town Boat ramp

5.00AM:   FIRST WAVE: OPEN MALE TO 30-34 MALES
5.05AM:   SECONDE WAVE: TEAMS
5.10AM:   THIRD WAVE: FEMALES
5.15Am:   FOURTH WAVE: MALE 35-39 TO 70+

SWIM FINISH

5.25AM:   FIRST SWIMMER PASSES THROUGH TRANSITION
6.30AM:   LAST SWIMMER PASSING TRANSITION

CYCLE FINISH

7.25AM:   LEADING COMPETITOR COMPLETES CYCLE LEG
