The Queensland State Long Course Championship for season 2002-03 has been awarded to Goondiwindi's famous Hell Of The West Triathlon. The state body Triathlon Queensand announced today that the 14th annual edition of its toughest championship event would return to Goondiwindi after a three year absence. "The Goondiwindi Triathlon Club has a proven track record with the event and its people have been a pleasure to negotiate with", a TQ spokesmen said. "They look after the professionals with good prizemoney and all the age groupers receive services, product and community support in what is the biggest challenge of the year for many of them". It will be the ninth time the state championships have been conducted at Goondiwindi and officials are confident of a record turnout.
